It can help you get\nthe preventive care you need, and it is a financial safety net in case you ever\nneed some restorative treatment for your smile. But if you only use your dental\ncoverage for emergencies, or you do not attend preventive appointments as often\nas you should, you are not getting your money\u2019s worth from your insurance. But\nyou <em>should <\/em>keep up with any treatment your dentist recommends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Deductible Will Reset<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most PPO policies have a deductible, which is a certain\namount that you must pay out of pocket before your insurance kicks in. That\ndeductible resets every year. Therefore, it is in your best financial interests\nto visit your dentist before the end of 2019 if you have already paid this year\u2019s\ndeductible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Policies Change<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s normal for dental insurance companies to adjust their\npolicies from year to year. They might raise their premiums, change what they\ncover, or tweak their coverage levels for certain services. Using your current\ncoverage before it expires can help you avoid having to figure out a whole new\nplan right away in 2020. Even if you are going to shop for a different dental plan\nfor next year, it is still worth your time and effort to get the greatest value\npossible out of this year\u2019s policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preventive Care Saves Money<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if you are sure that your teeth are healthy, you should\nstill visit your dentist before the end of the year. That\u2019s because most dental\npolicies provide cover the cost of preventive care at 100 percent. Therefore,\nyou could attend a cleaning and checkup for nothing out of pocket. The time you\nspend getting your teeth examined could alert you to any developing oral health\nissues, and you may still have time to get them taken care of with this year\u2019s\ninsurance policy.
