It\u2019s Our Biology<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Some have speculated that dental health could signal your relative fitness as a partner to other people. One Match.com survey researcher said the following: \u201cFrom a Darwinian perspective, good teeth are a real indication of your health \u2014 how much you drink, smoke, what you\u2019re eating.\u201d In that sense, the intuitive approval of good teeth stems from the impulse to have a physically healthy spouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Delta Dental survey, nearly eighty percent of Gen Xers and Baby Boomers agreed that good smile care is attractive. A DentaVox study showed that sixty-eight percent of respondents stopped dating someone because the other person had terrible teeth. Many others cite lousy breath or yellow\/crooked teeth as their biggest dating no-no.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, bad breath may be the most common dating deal-breaker. Fifty-seven percent of the DentaVox survey respondents stopped dating a partner because of it. A review conducted by the Oral Health Foundation in the UK found eighty-five percent of answerers wouldn\u2019t go on a second date with someone who had a smelly mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
