For almost 20 years, Dr. Joe (as our team and his patients like to call him) has been putting smiles on growing faces in Kaufman and beyond. His favorite part of his job is being able to interact with wonderful kids and work with the awesome staff at Texas Dentistry every single day, and he can’t wait to introduce your family to our fun, friendly, and world-class practice. Before you schedule your child’s first appointment with us, you can learn a little more about Dr. Joe by reading on below.
Dr. Joe was always interested in the medical field, and his own family dentist encouraged him to consider dentistry. His dentist gave him opportunities to observe patient care and work at his office during summer breaks, and from then on, his career path was set in his mind. He ended up specializing in pediatric dentistry because he enjoyed working with children and helping those who were scared of the dentist overcome their fears so they could get the care they need while feeling completely comfortable.
Dr. Joe attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and then he completed a one-year residency in Advanced Training in General Dentistry. This is when he decided to focus on pediatric dentistry, so he obtained his specialty certification at the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. A board-certified pediatric dentist and member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, he continues to take additional education every year in order to become an even better clinician, specifically when it comes to providing sedation dentistry.
When he’s at home, Dr. Joe mostly likes to relax with his wonderful wife, Julie, their two great sons, Christian and Ian, and the cute family dog, Bella. He’s also a big golfer and loves to play tennis, and he tries to travel whenever he can so he can see and learn about new places and cultures.
